Ceylon Graphene Technologies' Inauguration Ceremony of Reduced Graphene Oxide Commercial Manufacturing Plant

The inauguration ceremony of Ceylon Graphene Technologies’ reduced graphene oxide (rGO) manufacturing plant was held on the 18th March 2021 at the Nanotechnology & Science Park. With the newly completed manufacturing plant, CGT will have the capacity to produce nearly 2 tons of Reduced Graphene Oxide per year.

Ceylon Graphene Technologies (Pvt) Ltd is the first Graphene and advanced material company in Sri Lanka, which was established in June 2018. It is a joint venture of LOLC Group and Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC) that aims to place Sri Lanka in the global market for Graphene and associated products.

At Ceylon Graphene Technologies, we conduct research and development projects in advanced materials such as Graphene and Graphene derived materials to produce new applications. These value-added products that are converted from vein graphite are purchased from clients from all over the world for many applications such as, energy storage devices, composites, anti-corrosion, etc.

At CGT, we recognize that being a sustainable company is key to our communities, our ecology and our operations but we also realize it poses a chance to do what is right and to make a real difference in how we operate as a business. We have progressively looked at making a net positive impact through our operations. One of the key positive impacts is that solar panels are fitted on our facility, 30-40% of the electricity used for the CGT Production Plant is produced using solar power.

CGT hopes to keep finding more ways to maintain a sustainable work environment in the years to come.
